Damayanthi obtained her Bachelors of Law (LLB) Degree from University of Colombo Sri Lanka and was called to the Bar of Supreme Court of Sri Lanka in 1995. Prior to being a Lawyer, she was nominated as an apprentice at the Attorney’s General Department of Sri Lanka. She continued to practice as a Civil Lawyer for over 13 years until she landed to Canada as a permanent resident with her family. She also provided her service as a Notary Public, Company Secretary, Commissioner for Oaths and Justice of the Peace in Sri Lanka. She commenced to assist people in immigration matters since 1995 in Sri Lanka.
In Canada, she successfully completed Legal Assistant Diploma from Bow Valley College Canada in 2011 and joined as a student with the Court of Queen’s Bench Calgary. She was employed at Calgary Courts Centre, Government of Canada. Later, she has worked with senior renowned lawyers and immigration consultants as an Immigration and Family Law Paralegal and was able to assist thousands of clients.
She also graduated Immigration Law Practitioner Program (Immigration Consultant Diploma) from Ashton College, British Colombia Canada in 2016 succeeded the Full Skills Exam from her first attempt, and became a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant.
Her law degree has been recognized by the NCA, National Federation of Law Societies of Canada, and is working towards meeting the requirements for admission to the Bar.
